Shorashim Family Shabbat Experience Friday, January 8, 6:00 p.m.
The past few years we have experienced wonderful Shabbat dinners and services together at temple! While these communal experience are limited right now, we recognize the value of coming together on Shabbat, even from a distance. It is especially important for Hebrew students to have the opportunity to listen to and participate in the Shabbat prayers.
This Shabbat evening, join through Zoom or Livestream for a very family-friendly Shabbat service. Get comfortable at home and all ages can join in! Please let the rabbis know if you would like to lead a prayer as a family, or especially 4th-6th grade students (i.e. blessing for candles, wine, challah, a Hebrew prayer or English reading). K-3 students are encouraged to write or illustrate a picture showing something they like about Shabbat or a question about Shabbat.
** It is "Shabbat Shemot - the Sabbath of Names" based on the week's Torah portion. If your child has not yet received a Hebrew name and would like to, please be in touch with the rabbis ASAP - we would be glad to help you and give you a special naming certificate!
You are welcome to join other Shorashim families for Shabbat Dinner if you would like after (or before) the service! Please sign-up by Jan. 6 below and we will match you. We'll give you a few resources to enjoy your virtual Shabbat dinner together! Zoom Shabbat Dinner Sign Up
