Layers of Jerusalem

This day began in the present, discussing the challenges and triumphs of religious pluralism and Social Justice in Israel today, then moved into the past, exploring a large scale excavation of ancient Jerusalem.  We visited the Kotel (Western Wall) and Azarat Israel (the pluralistic section of the Kotel), for a special blessing for those who recently became or will soon become B’nai Mitzvah. We explored the Western Wall tunnel and the Jewish Quarter.  Finally, we ended our day with a visit to the Ma’aleh Film School to hear about their students and view several short films.
