Sisterhood

The Temple Beth David Sisterhood is comprised of women who share a desire to promote and support each other, to support the greater temple community, to make new friends, to learn, and to have fun. We offer a variety of programs to promote these common values.

Examples of these programs include: member brunch, meet and greets, field trips, Hanukah party, Rosh Chodesh service, Women’s Seder, community service, Sisterhood Friday night service, monthly book group and monthly movie club. For more information contact the Sisterhood co-presidents, Amy Fiorino and Deb Dubiner.

Sisterhood is seeking volunteers to assist with the Judaica Shop.  Please contact Cynthia Atkins for more information.

The Sisterhood Book Club meets at 7 pm the first Wednesday of each month at the Temple. We welcome new participants. Buying the books through the Amazon link at the top of this page helps support Temple Beth David.

The October Book Club will meet at 6 pm instead of 7 pm.

Please come for the November meeting with Rabbi Emiritus Henry A. Zoob as our special guest. He will discuss his book, A Lifetime of Genesis.

Books for October, November, December and January 2019 are:

  • My Name is Lucy Barton, by Elizabeth Strought
  • A Lifetime of Genesis, by Rabbi Henry Zoob
  • Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward
  • The Woman Who Smashed Codes, by Jason Fagone

The brunch features Rabbi Lior Nevo, an Israeli rabbi who is one of 50 female rabbis ordained in Israel. She will be speaking on being a Reform female rabbi in Israel.

Sisterhood membership is renewed annually. You can join the Sisterhood here or at the event.

The Sisterhood at Temple Beth David is a great way to meet other women and get involved in the Temple community. You can now join the Sisterhood online.
